Training Marketplace
The Training page is where you purchase pilot ratings and aircraft type ratings. These are separate from your basic aircraft access ratings and are primarily used for airline qualification.
Go to Training in the navigation to open the marketplace.
Pilot Ratings
Pilot ratings represent your level of certification. Airlines look at these when evaluating your application.
| Rating | What It Is |
|---|---|
| High Performance | Authorizes flying high-performance aircraft. |
| Commercial Single | Covers single-engine aircraft operations. |
| Commercial Multi | Covers multi-engine aircraft operations. |
| Commercial Rotor | Covers helicopter and rotorcraft operations. |
| ATP Single | Airline Transport Pilot certification for single-engine aircraft. Required for senior airline roles. |
| ATP Multi | Airline Transport Pilot certification for multi-engine aircraft. Required for senior airline roles. |
Ratings build on each other. You need a Commercial Single before you can purchase Commercial Multi or Commercial Rotor, and so on up the chain.
How to Buy a Pilot Rating
- Go to Training in the navigation.
- Find the rating you want in the Ratings Training section.
- Click Purchase.
- Review the name and cost in the confirmation dialog, then click Confirm.
- The rating is added to your profile immediately.
Aircraft Type Ratings
Type ratings certify you on a specific aircraft model. They expand which aircraft you qualify for and improve your hiring odds with airlines that operate that type.
Each type rating card shows the aircraft type code (for example, B737 or A320) and the purchase price.
How to Buy a Type Rating
- Go to Training in the navigation.
- Find the aircraft in the Type Rating Training section.
- Click Purchase, review the price, and confirm.
Your Current Ratings
The top of the Training page shows every rating and type rating you hold, along with the date you earned each one. When you’ve purchased everything available in a category, it shows a completion state.
How Ratings Affect Hiring
Each certification adds a flat bonus on top of your base approval chance.
| Certification | Approval Bonus |
|---|---|
| Matching aircraft type rating | +14% |
| ATP Single or ATP Multi certificate | +6% |
| Commercial Single, Multi, or Rotor certificate | +4% |
| Any type ratings (even without a match) | +3% |
| High Performance rating | +1.5% |
| Other certifications | +1.5% each, up to 8 certifications |
| Extra type ratings beyond your first | +1% each, up to 5 extra |
A matching type rating is the single largest bonus available because it means you already fly the aircraft the airline assigns. The maximum possible boost from certifications is about +47.5%, and total approval is capped at 98%.
For how experience and airline tier affect your base odds before these bonuses apply, see How to Apply to an Airline.
For the basic aircraft ratings that control which aircraft you can rent, see Pilots and Ratings.
