How to Use Hangars

Hangars let you store aircraft at airports. They protect your fleet and are available for both personal and operator use.

Renting a Hangar

  1. Go to an airport’s detail page.
  2. Look for the Hangars section.
  3. Select a hangar to rent. You can rent it for yourself or on behalf of an operator (if you have the ManageSettings permission).
  4. Confirm the rental. Hangar rentals have a recurring cost, so you’re billed on an ongoing basis.

You cannot rent your own hangar from yourself.

Slot Capacity

Hangars have a limited number of slots. Larger aircraft take up more slots than smaller ones. Before parking, make sure there’s enough space.

Parking an Aircraft

  1. Open the aircraft’s detail page.
  2. Choose to store it in a hangar.
  3. Select from your available hangar rentals at that airport.

Requirements:

  • The aircraft must be at the same airport as the hangar.
  • The aircraft must not be in flight.
  • The aircraft must not already be stored in another hangar.
  • The hangar must have enough slots available.

Unparking an Aircraft

From the aircraft’s detail page, choose to remove it from the hangar. The aircraft must not be in flight.

Automatic Parking and Unparking

  • On flight start. If the aircraft is parked in a hangar, it’s automatically removed from storage when the flight begins.
  • On flight completion. If you have an eligible hangar at the destination airport, the aircraft is automatically parked when the flight is completed.

Cancelling a Hangar Rental

You can cancel a hangar rental from the Assets page. Only the owner of the rental (or an operator member with the right permissions) can cancel it.

After cancelling, you can delete the cancelled rental to fully clean it up. If funds become insufficient, the system may terminate the rental automatically.
