How to Apply to an Airline
FS Reality has over 600 real-world airlines to apply to. You can browse, apply, and track everything from the Airlines section in the navigation.
Finding an Airline
- Go to Airlines in the navigation.
- Click Carrier Directory to see the full list.
- Browse or use the filters to narrow it down.
You can filter by name or code, country, or aircraft type. All three filters can be active at once.
Click any airline to expand its details: fleet, hub airports, number of pilots, active schedules, and flight range breakdown.
Before You Apply
Clicking to apply opens a preview screen before anything is submitted. It shows:
- Approval chance. A green checkmark means your profile looks competitive. A yellow clock means the application goes to manual review. A red X means your profile may fall below their threshold.
- Your experience summary. Total flights, total hours, and the ratings and type ratings on your record.
- Projected terms. Your expected rank, hourly rate, per diem, and the airline’s tier level.
Review this carefully. Terms are estimates and finalize when the offer is issued.
Submitting
Click Submit Application to send it. Possible outcomes:
| Result | What Happens |
|---|---|
| Accepted | You have an active contract. Go to Airline Workplace to get started. |
| Declined | The airline passed. Build more experience or certifications and try later. |
| Submitted | Your application is under manual review. The airline has 48 hours to respond. |
If You Already Have a Contract
If you’re currently employed at another airline, you’ll see a warning. Accepting a new offer will cancel your current contract.
Tracking Your Applications
Go to Airlines and click Applications to see your full history: status, submission date, and offer terms if one was extended.
Managing Offers
Go to Airlines and click Offers to see outstanding offers. Each one shows the airline name, your projected rank, hourly rate, per diem, included aircraft types, and an expiration date. Accept or decline from that page.
Improving Your Chances
Target Experience by Tier
Each airline tier has a target experience level. Once you hit it, experience stops being a barrier and your odds improve significantly.
| Tier | Target Hours | Target Flights |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | 80 hours | 60 flights |
| Level 2 | 220 hours | 140 flights |
| Level 3 | 500 hours | 300 flights |
| Level 4 | 900 hours | 560 flights |
| Level 5 | 1,500 hours | 900 flights |
Approval Odds
Here’s how your qualifications translate to approval chances across airline tiers:

| At target experience, no ratings | 76% | 72% | 67% | 64% | 65% |
| Target experience + matching type rating | 90% | 86% | 81% | 78% | 79% |
