How to Start & Complete a Flight
Flying is the core of FS Reality. Here’s how the full flight process works.
Requirements
Before you can start a flight:
- You must have an active aircraft rental
- Your pilot must be at the same airport as the aircraft
- The aircraft must be airworthy (inspections current, no critical maintenance)
- You must be on the ground in your simulator
- You must have FSUIPC running (this connects your simulator to the tracker)
- You must have the FS Reality Flight Tracker installed (download from the link in the navigation bar)
Starting a Flight
- Set up at the departure airport in your flight simulator.
- Open the FS Reality Flight Tracker.
- Start the flight through the tracker. It will verify:
- Your location matches the departure airport
- Your aircraft is ready
- You’re on the ground
- The system loads eligible assignments onto your aircraft based on weight, passengers, and fuel.
- If the aircraft was parked in a hangar, it’s automatically removed from storage.
During the Flight
- The tracker sends position updates to FS Reality during your flight.
- Other pilots can see you on the Map page as a live flight.
- A flight banner appears at the top of every page in the app showing your active flight.
Completing a Flight
- Land at your destination airport in the simulator.
- The tracker detects the landing and completes the flight.
When a flight is completed, the system:
- Lands your pilot at the destination airport
- Updates aircraft fuel burn and wear
- Completes loaded assignments and pays your earnings
- Bills rental and fuel charges
- Ends the rental
- Automatically parks the aircraft in a hangar at the destination (if one is available)
Cancelling a Flight
If you need to cancel mid-flight, you can do so from the active flight banner at the top of the app or through the tracker. Cancelling resets your assignments and clears the active flight. You won’t be paid for a cancelled flight.
