Pilots & Ratings
Your pilot has ratings (certifications) that unlock different aircraft types. Without the right rating, you can’t rent or use an aircraft, even if you own it.
Available Ratings
| Rating | How You Get It |
|---|---|
| Commercial Single | Every pilot starts with this rating for free. It allows you to fly single-engine aircraft. |
| Commercial Rotor | Free to acquire. Allows you to fly helicopters and rotorcraft. |
| Commercial Multi | Purchased with in-game currency. Allows you to fly multi-engine aircraft. |
| High Performance | Purchased with in-game currency. Allows you to fly high-performance aircraft. |
Purchasing Ratings
You can buy ratings from your dashboard:
- On the Home page, look at your ratings section.
- Ratings you already own are shown. Ratings you can still purchase will have a buy option.
- Select a rating to see its price, then confirm the purchase.
- The cost is deducted from your balance and the rating is added immediately.
You cannot buy a rating you already own.
Why Ratings Matter
- Renting. You must have the matching rating to reserve an aircraft.
- Assignments. Some assignments involve aircraft types that require specific ratings, so having more ratings opens up more jobs.
- Progression. Ratings are a key part of growing your career. Starting with single-engine planes and working up to multi-engine or high-performance aircraft is a natural progression.
Airline and Type Ratings
If you’re pursuing an airline career, there’s a separate set of certifications available in the Training Marketplace: High Performance, Commercial Single, Commercial Multi, Commercial Rotor, ATP Single, ATP Multi, and aircraft type ratings. These affect your hiring odds and rank eligibility rather than your ability to rent. See Training Marketplace.
